Origin, Meaning, And History Of Effie

Effie is a feminine given name of Greek origin and a diminutive form of Euphemia. The name Euphemia is derived from the Greek words “eu”, meaning ‘good’, and “pheme”, meaning ‘to speak’, thus signifying ‘well-spoken’.

She endured several tortures before passing away, eventually dying in the Chalcedon arena due to injuries caused by a bear.
